About the Summit
JCI Africa and the Middle East Senate Association (AMESA) Summit is an annual event that is aimed at providing a platform for JCI Senators, members, partners, and stakeholders from our region and elsewhere to improve relations, share best practices, and expose business opportunities between our countries.
The summit gives delegates the opportunity to engage on common developmental issues facing our different communities, seek sustainable solutions, and commit to continue being socially responsible leaders that invest in particular to the development of young people.
The event will offer local and international delegates an action-packed program that includes business forums, panel discussions, networking, training workshops, and ceremonies. It will also have opportunities for delegates to experience excellent leisure and unique tourism attractions.

Summit Theme
Inspired by one of JCI values: economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise, the 2023 JCI AMESA Summit will gather under the theme:
Championing Intra-Africa Trade
The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement will create the largest free trade area in the world, measured by the number of countries participating. The pact will connect 1.3 billion people across 55 countries with a combined GDP valued at $3.4 trillion. It has the potential to lift 30 million people out of extreme poverty by 2035. In order to meaningfully participate in AfCFTA leaders in the different sectors of society need to grasp its dynamics and seek to engage solutions that will bring the programme to the benefit of citizens of the continent.
The summit will invite experts and key stakeholders as part of the program activities to discuss the following objectives aimed at expanding on the theme:
- Gain an understanding of the AfCFTA agreement and the opportunities it provides for doing business in the African continent
- Engage on opportunities that can drive youth participation in the mainstream economy within Africa and the Middle East
- Facilitate exchange of social and economic development opportunities between Africa and the Middle East countries
- Promote leadership development of young people for sustainable development of communities in Africa and the Middle East
