Sawubona, Bonjour, Greetings Senators and leaders,
It gives me great pleasure to host and welcome you in the beautiful land of South Africa as we host the 2023 AMESA Summit from the 20th-23rd September in the magical Suncity.
“Championing Intra-Africa trade is both an appropriate and timely theme given the various current challenges and restrictions in the intra-trade heightened by the adverse consequences and aftereffects of the Pandemic. As enterprising leaders, we as JCI Senators are paving the way and taking the lead in the conversations that will lead to actions that will aid in building a more prosperous and sustainable continent and world at large.
Trade is widely accepted as an important engine of economic growth and development. It is my earnest belief that playing our part not only in the few days we will spend together deliberating around the theme but actions taken post the AMESA will be d e e m e d feasible as potent instruments for the achievements of rapid and sustainable economic growth and development of our continent and area.
As SASA Chairperson and host of the 2023 AMESA Summit, I look forward to welcoming You all and having fruitful dialogue and networking as we collectively champion the Intra-Africa trade agenda.
